ANIMAL DRUGS/FEED: 6864W

Russell C. Smith/dba Gomers, Portage, WI, July 14 (Minnesota). The veterinarian was cited for marketing unapproved new animal drugs, such as Karbo Flour, Karbo Caps-Cows and Karbo Caps-Calves, Tetra 343 and Soft Oil Ovine. FDA said Smith=s intention Ato sell individually to [his] farmer customers and have [the] customers mix the components@ would not alleviate his responsibilities. The agency also objected to Smith=s selling products to clinics and other establishments under the belief that the act of writing a prescription constituted a valid veterinarian/client/patient relationship.
