Darin Erstad Darin Charles Erstad (born June 4, 1974 in Jamestown, North Dakota) is a first baseman/center fielder in Major League Baseball currently with the Chicago White Sox. Prior to 2007, he had played his entire career with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim franchise (1996-2006).  then laid down a bunt between the mound and third base. Mariners pitcher Bobby Ayala fielded the ball and threw a strike to first base.

      But Erstad arrived just as the ball did and he charged through second baseman Joey Cora's glove, taking the mitt and ball with him and allowing DiSarcina to go to third. Cora was charged with an error.

      Jim Edmonds' one-out single to center scored DiSarcina. Tim Salmon was intentionally walked after a passed ball sent Erstad to third and Edmonds to second. Cecil Fielder's grounder up the middle scored Erstad.

      Angels closer Troy Percival (2-3), who relieved Rich DeLucia in the 10th, held the Mariners scoreless in the 11th.

      The Mariners scored an unearned run in the first and took a 2-0 lead in the fourth on a two-out, bases-loaded walk by Angels starter Chuck Finley.

      Edmonds led off the sixth with a double and scored on Garret Anderson's two-out single. The Angels took a 3-2 lead with a pair of two-out runs in the seventh. The first came on an Erstad homer, the second when Dave Hollins scored from first on an error by Mariners left fielder Russ Davis.

      ANGELS vs. SEATTLE

      Time: 1:05 p.m. at Seattle Kingdome.

      TV/Radio: Channel 11; KRLA-AM (1110), XPRS-AM (1090, Spanish).
