ANGELS NOTEBOOK: ROTATION REWORKED FOR COLON.

Byline: Keven Chavez Staff Writer

ANAHEIM - The Angels have structured the rest of the season around getting the ball into the right hand of pitcher Bartolo Colon.

The Angels will pitch the 20-game winner and American League American League (AL)

It is a calculated risk, particularly considering Colon's recent troubles with stiffness in his back. And it certainly didn't help that the Tampa Bay Devil Rays The Tampa Bay Devil Rays are a professional baseball team based in St. Petersburg, Florida, Florida. The Devil Rays are a member of the Eastern Division of Major League Baseball's American League. From to the present, the Devil Rays have played in Tropicana Field.  knocked Colon all over the yard in Sunday's 8-4 loss.

Colon was tagged for 10 hits, including three home runs, and six earned runs over five innings.

``I was high in the strike zone and that's why I was getting hit,'' Colon said through an interpreter. ``My back had nothing to do with the fact that I didn't execute my pitches.''

Colon would also be in line to pitch the potential first game of the AL Division Series, if the Angels win the division. If the Angels and A's finish the regular season tied, Colon would be available for a one-game playoff against Oakland next Monday.

Jarrod Washburn, whose spot will be skipped if Colon starts Thursday, likely will start Friday's opener in Texas of the final series of the regular season. If the Angels win two, or perhaps just one of the first three games in Oakland, the rotation might remain unchanged and Washburn still is an option to start Thursday.

--Playoff tickets: Tickets for possible Angels Division Series home games will go on sale today at 10 a.m. only on the team's official Web site at www.angelsbaseball.com.

Walk-up sales at either Angel Stadium or Ticketmaster locations will not be available.
