Byline: Joe Haakenson Staff Writer

TORONTO - Angels manager Mike Scioscia
Michael Lorri "Mike" Scioscia (born November 27 1958 in Morton, Pennsylvania) is a former catcher and current Major League Baseball manager. His last name is pronounced SO-shuh. He is often referred to by the nickname Sosh.
would have you believe the nine-game road trip to Toronto, New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
and Boston is no more important than any other trip. But history says otherwise.

In the past five seasons, the Angels are 35-52 when visiting the Blue Jays, Yankees and Red Sox. Those are numbers that stand out considering the Angels were contenders in three of those seasons - 1995, '97 and '98.

The Angels have held their own in New York, going 14-14 at Yankee Stadium Coordinates:

since 1995. But Toronto and Boston have been trouble. Last season, the Angels went a combined 0-12 in both cities.

This will be the Angels' only trips to New York and Boston this season. They visited Toronto this season in April and lost three of four.

A starting lineup in sports refers to the set of players actively participating in the event when the game begins. The players in the starting lineup are commonly referred to as starters, whereas the others are substitutes
tonight after watching most of Sunday's game from the bench because of a tight groin. Salmon did come in and deliver a pinch-single off Roger Clemens William Roger Clemens (born August 4, 1962, in Dayton, Ohio), is a starting pitcher for the New York Yankees, and is one of the preeminent pitchers in Major League history. In 2006, a poll of 32 ESPN analysts named Clemens the greatest living pitcher.  in the seventh inning.

Salmon, though, will be careful not to come back if he's not ready. In 1998, a foot injury forced him into a DH role and last season he played in only 98 games because of a sprained wrist.

That sprained wrist, he says, forced him into bad habits that he carried into this season. But he's been hot lately, hitting .392 since the All-Star break and establishing a career-best 17-game hitting streak In baseball, a hitting streak refers to the consecutive number of official games in which a player gets at least one base hit. Games in which a player does not have any official at bats due to walks, or sacrifice bunts, or being hit by a pitch, are ignored (neither break the streak .

``Let's use your brain here a little bit,'' Salmon said. ``Everyone has had a tight hamstring or something of that nature and tried to go hard on it. But if I had been smart the day before that foot injury, maybe I could have avoided it.

``Everything is telling me to be smart about this. We've only got six weeks left in the season. If I do anything that puts me out for a week or two weeks, that's not good for the team.''
