in the 110th game Saturday, when he drove in his 85th and 86th runs with a two-run double in the Angels' 7-5 victory over Kansas City.

Guillen hit 31 homers and drove in 86 runs for Cincinnati and Oakland last season, which was characterized as a breakout campaign for the well- traveled outfielder. This season has put the 27-year-old into a starring role.

Although Vladimir Guerrero Vladimir Alvino Guerrero (born February 9, 1976 in Don Gregorio, Nizao, Dominican Republic), and known in his native Dominican Republic as Miquéas (Spanish for Micah), is a Major League Baseball right fielder who plays for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.  has commanded the spotlight, Guillen has crowded in with him. He and Guerrero share the club lead for RBI and are in a three-way tie for third in the American League American League (AL)

One of the two associations of professional baseball teams in the U.S. and Canada designated as major leagues; the other is the National League (NL).
.

Both are on pace for 127 RBI, which nearly matches Guerrero's career high of 131, set in 1999. And both have a major presence in the middle of the lineup. After Guillen's double, the Royals opted to intentionally walk Guerrero with two on and the game tied in the seventh inning. Darin Erstad Darin Charles Erstad (born June 4, 1974 in Jamestown, North Dakota) is a first baseman/center fielder in Major League Baseball currently with the Chicago White Sox. Prior to 2007, he had played his entire career with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim franchise (1996-2006).  responded with a go-ahead, two-run double.

``I didn't know him before,'' Erstad said. ``I knew he was a gamer. He's a clutch RBI guy. He relishes those situations. It's just a great addition to our team.''

Manager Mike Scioscia
Michael Lorri "Mike" Scioscia (born November 27 1958 in Morton, Pennsylvania) is a former catcher and current Major League Baseball manager. His last name is pronounced SO-shuh. He is often referred to by the nickname Sosh.
noted that Guillen didn't even begin last season in the major leagues and hasn't spent a full season there since 1998 with Pittsburgh.

--Double ends drought: Garret Anderson's second-inning double broke his 14-game drought without an extra-base hit ex·tra-base hit

--Big Cat can still swing bat: Andres Galarraga, signed by the Angels this week, homered for one of his three hits in Triple-A Salt Lake's 13-11 victory over Omaha (Neb.) on Friday. Scioscia said reports indicated Galarraga's bat speed looked encouraging.

``Andres has a lot of levels I think he has to work up to,'' Scioscia said of the 43-year-old first baseman. ``But it's definitely a good first step for him. Andres wants to see what he can do and we want to see what he can do.''

--DaVanon's return on hold: The Angels hoped to activate outfielder Jeff DaVanon Jeffrey Graham DaVanon (born December 8, 1973 in San Diego, California) is a Major League Baseball outfielder with the Oakland Athletics.

DaVanon came up through the Oakland Athletics system before being traded to the Anaheim Angels as a minor-leaguer in 1999.
today, but he suffered a foot injury on his rehabilitation assignment in Salt Lake and will be delayed at least a few days.

DaVanon is returning from back spasms.

--Injury update: Catcher Bengie Molina is progressing well from his broken right index finger and is on course to be activated from the disabled list when he's eligible Aug. 16. ... Jarrod Washburn played ``light catch'' Friday, Scioscia said, and reported no discomfort. There's still no timetable for him to throw a bullpen session.
