Ah, to be 22.

Troy Glaus Troy Edward Glaus (born August 3, 1976 in Tarzana, California) is a Major League Baseball player who plays third base for the Toronto Blue Jays. Previously, Glaus played with the Anaheim Angels (1998-2004) and the Arizona Diamondbacks (2005).  feels fresh despite playing nearly every day since last August, when he began playing in the Arizona Instructional League after signing with the Angels.

From there he went to Winter Ball in Venezuela, to spring training in Arizona, to Double-A Midland, to Triple-A Vancouver and finally to the Angels.

``He told me the other day he's had about 900 at-bats since August,'' Angels manager Terry Collins said. ``That's a lot.''

Glaus went into Friday's game hitting .225 with one home run and 12 RBI RBI

in 19 games, but the Angels aren't worried about his offense. That will come around. They are especially pleased with his defense and his poise.

``Troy Glaus has handled himself great,'' Collins said. ``He doesn't act like he's been around five years. He knows he's a young player, which is why he has respect. The veterans respect young guys that approach it that way.''

On McGwire: The Angels don't have to face Mark McGwire
Mark David McGwire (born October 1, 1963 in Pomona, California) is a former professional baseball player who played the majority of his major league career with the Oakland Athletics before finishing his final years with the St. Louis Cardinals.
because he's in the National League, but Collins said the home run-record chase would have to take a back seat to the pennant race.

``If you're in the pennant hunt, you probably pitch around Mark McGwire,'' he said. ``I would in a pennant race. Whether he's got 51 homers or 41, he's a guy you pitch around.''

Bad film form: Collins was a tad upset with Fox Sports for how they edited highlights of Thursday's game. Fox showed a video clip A short video presentation.  of Collins waving to a child of a friend in the stands between innings. But that's not why Collins was upset.

He was angry because when Fox Sports News showed highlights of the game, they showed Garret Anderson Garret Joseph Anderson (born June 30, 1972 in Los Angeles, California) is a Major League Baseball left fielder who has played his entire career for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.  hitting a double off the wall, followed by the clip of Collins waving while the on-air anchor said something to the effect: ``Angels manager Terry Collins waves bye-bye to a Garret Anderson double in the Angels' 13-2 over the Tigers.''

``If I was (Tigers manager) Buddy Bell

, I'd want to kill me,'' Collins said. ``It looked like I was showing them up.''

Angels adds: Pitcher Ken Hill felt fine during a sideline workout Friday and is scheduled to make a rehab start Sunday for Single-A Lake Elsinore. If all goes well, Hill could start next weekend in Boston. . . .
