ANGELS NOTEBOOK: ESCOBAR BETTER IN RED.

Byline: BEN VILLA

Staff Writer

ANAHEIM -- Last Tuesday Last Tuesday is a Christian melodic punk rock band hailing from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. They played their final show on March 10th, 2007. Last Tuesday was formed in 1999 in Harrisburg, P.A. , in Kelvim Escobar's first start of the season, the Angels unveiled their new red uniforms and Escobar was the winning pitcher against the Texas Rangers Texas Rangers, mounted fighting force organized (1835) during the Texas Revolution. During the republic they became established as the guardians of the Texas frontier, particularly against Native Americans. , allowing just two runs in 5 1/3 innings in a 8-3 victory.

Whoever starts for the Angels gets to pick the uniforms they're going to wear, and since it worked the first time, Escobar said they're going to wear them again today in the series finale

 against Oakland.

"I like the red uniforms, I think they look good," Escobar said. "I won my first start wearing them so I'm going to stick with them. I'm not superstitious or anything but I'm not going to change now."

One can hardly blame Escobar for trying just about anything to change the tough luck he's had with the Angels, who don't seem to score any runs for him when he's pitching.

Escobar went 11-14 last season and his 3.61 ERA was the sixth lowest in the American League American League (AL)

One of the two associations of professional baseball teams in the U.S. and Canada designated as major leagues; the other is the National League (NL).
. In 11 of his 14 losses, the Angels scored three runs or less.

To top things off, the defense was terrible behind him. Escobar had 17 unearned runs last year, the most in the majors.

Take nothing for granted: It would appear that with Bartolo Colon and Jered Weaver Jered David Weaver (born October 4, 1982 in Northridge, California), is a Major League Baseball starting pitcher with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Jered attended college at Long Beach State University where he was the 2004 College Baseball's Golden Spikes Award winner.
close to rejoining the starting rotation later this month, Joe Saunders Joseph Francis "Joe" Saunders (born June 16, 1981 in Falls Church, Virginia) is a Major League Baseball left-handed starting pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Saunders played college baseball at Virginia Tech, where he compiled a 27-7 career record.
and Dustin Moseley's days in Anaheim are numbered.

However, Angels manager Mike Scioscia

said Saturday that might not be the case.

"If Bartolo and Jered come back soon and are ready to help us, then we have a lot of things to look at, but a lot can happen in this game in a week," Scioscica said. "You never know what's going to happen but I think that Joe and Dustin have proved that they are ready to be major-league starters."

Weaver continued his comeback Friday night, throwing 77 pitches at Rancho Cucamonga.

He knows his history: In honor of the 60-year anniversary of Jackie Robinson's breaking the color barrier, at least one player from each team will wear Robinson's No. 42 on April 15.

Just because Angels left fielder Garret Anderson refused to do so when asked by Major League Baseball "MLB" and "Major Leagues" redirect here. For other uses, see MLB (disambiguation) and Major Leagues (disambiguation).

officials, Scioscia said that shouldn't be mistaken for a lack of respect.

"At the time, Garret thought that only Ken Griffey Jr. was going to wear it and he didn't want to steal his thunder," Scioscia said.
