ANAHEIM - Angels right-hander Kelvim Escobar Kelvim Jose Escobar Bolivar [ess-coe-BAR] (born April 11, 1976 in La Guaira, Venezuela) is a starting pitcher in Major League Baseball who currently plays for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (2004-present). He bats and throws right handed.  threw batting practice on Monday and seemed on track for his return. Whether he comes back as a starter or a reliever remains to be seen.

    ``He's better, but not quite there to do what he needs to do,'' Scioscia said.

    --Setback for McPherson: Dallas McPherson, on the 15-day disabled list with pain in his hip and lower back, suffered what Scioscia called ``a setback'' in his rehabilitation when an examination by a team doctor Monday revealed the injury has not properly healed. Scioscia said he did not have enough information to project when McPherson will return. Extras: Angels outfielder Vladimir Guerrero earned American League Player of the Week honors for his performance last week.
