Edmonds is affectionately known as Jimmy Baseball [1], "Lassie" and as "Hollywood"[2] among Cardinals fans. .

    Edmonds' reaction?

``Really? Cool. I'm flattered that team would make an effort to get me,'' Edmonds said. ``They have a pretty good team right now. I like the guys on that team. It would be fun to play with (Mike) Piazza. . . . But I don't think I like the National League.''

Edmonds has heard rumors he'd be traded in the past, and he's learned not to let it bother him.

``It used to, but it doesn't anymore,'' he said. ``I'm here and that's about it. It's nice to know somebody wants you.''

Glaus moving up: Troy Glaus Troy Edward Glaus (born August 3, 1976 in Tarzana, California) is a Major League Baseball player who plays third base for the Toronto Blue Jays. Previously, Glaus played with the Anaheim Angels (1998-2004) and the Arizona Diamondbacks (2005).  moved one step closer to becoming the Angels' third baseman Wednesday when he was promoted from Double-A Midland to Triple-A Vancouver.

Meanwhile, the Angels are listening to trade offers for current third baseman Dave Hollins.

Pitchers taking cuts: Angels pitchers began taking batting practice Wednesday in preparation for interleague games in National League ballparks. The Angels open interleague play in Phoenix against the Diamondbacks on June 9-11.

Asked how he hit, closer Troy Percival said: ``I didn't. I bunted. I had a good drag bunt working today.''

Not quite Greene: Catcher Todd Greene, still trying to recover from offseason shoulder surgery, took batting practice in Anaheim and will go to Single-A Lake Elsinore on Friday.

Greene suffered a setback last weekend when he caught back-to-back games and had pain in the shoulder in the second game after making three throws to second base in the same inning.

``Four or five days ago, I was going to have Todd Greene start,'' Collins said. ``Then all of a sudden he's hurt again. It gets frustrating after a while.''

Greene will catch Friday, then DH Saturday, Sunday and Monday before catching again on Tuesday.

``We'll see if he can do that,'' Collins said. ``He's a tough guy, he feels he can catch. But we don't feel he can catch every day.''

Sutton celebration: The Angels will honor former Dodgers and Angels pitcher Don Sutton before their home game on June 18. Sutton, who pitched for the Angels from 1985-87, will be inducted into baseball's Hall of Fame on July 26. ``Don was one of several players who recorded their historical milestones in an Angels uniform,'' Angels president Tony Tavares said, referring to Sutton winning his 300th game with the Angels.
