DETROIT - When the Angels' offense got off to a slow start, there were three in particular who struggled more noticeably than the others. But during the offense's surge in the past few weeks, the same three - Tim Salmon

    , Brad Fullmer Bradley Ryan Fullmer is a major league baseball player who bats left handed and throws right handed. He was born January 17, 1975 in Chatsworth, California.

    Fullmer last played at the Major League level during the 2004 season with the Texas Rangers.

    Adam Thomas Kennedy (born January 10, 1976 in Riverside, California) is a Major League Baseball player. He currently plays second base for the St. Louis Cardinals.

      --Double-A no-hitter: Hatuey Mendoza, pitching for the Angels' Double-A team in Arkansas, threw a no-hitter in the Travelers' 3-0 victory Monday over the Tulsa Drillers The Tulsa Drillers are a minor league baseball team based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The team, which plays in the Texas League, is the Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies major-league club. The Drillers play in Drillers Stadium, located at 15th and Yale in midtown Tulsa. . Mendoza hit a batter, walked one and struck out three.

      A 23-year-old right-hander, Mendoza threw 91 pitches and retired the final 24 batters. The no-hitter was the first by an Angels' minor-leaguer since Ramon Ortiz for Single-A Cedar Rapids against Quad City on Aug. 7, 1997. Mendoza is 1-1 with a 2.33 ERA for Arkansas this year.

      Matchup: RH Kevin Appier (3-1, 2.83 ERA) will start for the Angels against Detroit's Nate Cornejo (1-3, 5.10). The Angels have won 14 of 16, including five in a row, since starting the season 6-14. The Angels have gained five games on the first-place Mariners in the AL West, moving from 10 1/2 games back to 5 1/2 back.
