Tony Fernandez looked better than ever in his 2,000th game.

``Delgado had a tremendous at-bat,'' Anaheim manager Terry Collins said. ``It was 3-2, he fouled off five straight pitches, he walks. Tony comes up and hits the ball in the hole and all of a sudden you're in a jam. You can hardly blame the pitcher for that.''

      Toronto starter Joey Hamilton, who has yet to win a game in the AL, gave up two runs and six hits in seven innings.

      ``It's a nice feeling to go out there and contribute. You just try to build on this positive,'' Hamilton said.

      Notes: Koch has converted five of six save opportunities. . . . Bush has 11 stolen bases in 12 attempts. . . . After Tuesday night's 13-2 loss at SkyDome, the Angels held a 45-minute, closed-door meeting. . . . The Angels are 0-5 in Toronto this season.
