Rex Hudler put the Angels ahead 6-4 with a two-run homer off Tim Davis in the sixth after Davis walked Darin Erstad to open the inning. Hudler had four hits. The Angels used four walks by Mariners starter Matt Wagner and two hits to score four runs in the fifth to tie the score at 4-4. The Mariners built a 4-0 lead in the first four innings. Wagner went five innings, giving up four runs on six hits and five walks. Notes: Rodriguez collected his 31st double, second in the majors behind Martinez, who had his 43rd. . . . Angels No. 1 catcher Don Slaught, who had to leave Thursday night's game in the seventh inning because of back spasms, had X-rays Friday. He is day-to-day. The Angels recalled catcher Jorge Fabregas from Triple-A Vancouver to back up Pat Borders while Slaught is out. . . Forty-three of Wagner's 104 pitches were in the fifth inning. . . .
