ANGEION SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH GERMAN DISTRIBUTOR
 MINNEAPOLIS, June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Angeion Corporation

(NASDAQ: ANGN) has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Bavaria Medizin-Technologie (BMT) GmbH. The agreement provides for full German distribution of Angeion Medical Products' five families of proprietary products consisting of 103 individual product models.
BMT was founded in 1991 by several prominent Munich businessmen and leading German cardiologists. Hanson Gifford is managing director of BMT and played an important role in the growth of Devices for Vascular Intervention (DVI), an Eli Lilly Company.
Angeion began shipping products to BMT for distribution in February. Angeion estimates that the German market represents the second largest country market outside of the United States. It is estimated that the total German market for Angeion's line of products to be $7.1 million.
"We're pleased to have developed a relationship with an aggressive organization that is poised to become a major force in the German cardiovascular market," said Joseph Afryl, AMP's director of sales. "We look forward to growing our mutual businesses together."
Minneapolis-based Angeion Corporation, through its Angeion Medical Products division, manufactures interventional accessory devices primarily for the cardiovascular markets. Angeion's subsidiaries, AngeLase, Inc. and AngeMed, Inc., are developing products for treating various types of arrhythmias.
