ANDREA FRANK FOUNDATION AWARDS.


The Andrea Frank Foundation has announced this year's grant awards totaling $648,839. Founded in 1995 by Robert Frank in memory of his daughter, the foundation supports the work of artists and non-profit cultural and educational organizations working in photography, video, film and other visual arts visual arts nplartes fpl plásticas

. Last year's grants were awarded solely to individual artists, while this year's grants have been awarded to both organizations and individuals.

Three organizations, House of Toast Film and Video Collective (Windsor, Ontario Windsor is the southernmost city in Canada and lies at the western end of the heavily populated Quebec City-Windsor Corridor. Seven organizations received a total of $169,000 in 2000 with another $234,000 to follow in 2001/2002 as matching funds. The seven organizations chosen were Communication Resources (Chicago, IL), Cinematexas International Short Film and Video Festival (Austin, TX), Essex Art Center (Lawrence, MA), Light Work (Syracuse, NY), 911 Media Arts Center (Seattle, WA), Outside In (Santa Fe, NM) and Tohono O'odham Community Action (Sells, AZ).

Individual grants totaling $112,839 were awarded to seven artists: Dorothy Grandbois (New Mexico), Carlos Gustavo (New York New York, state, United States
