Exploration activities at Aroma resulted in the discovery of significant molybdenum molybdenum (məlĭb`dənəm) [Gr.,=leadlike], metallic chemical element; symbol Mo; at. no. 42; at. wt. 95.94; m.p. about 2,617°C;; b.p. about 4,612°C;; sp. gr. 10.22 at 20°C;; valence +2, +3, +4, +5, or +6. , copper and gold anomalies while at Anocarire a large stream-heated alteration system, with characteristics similar to alteration systems overly major gold deposits in the Andes, was outlined. "We are very pleased with the exploration results from our two northern Chilean properties." said Carl Hansen, President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. "The large coincidental molybdenum and copper anomalies discovered at Aroma may represent the surface expression of an underlying porphyry-style deposit. We are presently reviewing our plans for the next exploration campaign." While Andina is mainly focused on outlining a significant resource on its Volcan Gold Project (see Andina's October 13, 2005 press release), the Company is committed to establishing the potential of its entire portfolio of Chilean gold and copper properties. Aroma Project The Aroma property, located 95 kilometres east of Arica, Chile, was the target of a major trenching campaign comprising approximately 6,500 metres of bulldozer trenching and the collection of 1,600 four-metre channel samples. The program targeted a six square kilometre hydrothermal hydrothermal, hydrothermic relating to the temperature effects of water, as in hot baths. alteration system where previous exploration activities by North Limited had outlined two gold-in-soil anomalies. The results from Andina's exploration campaign confirmed the presence of a number of weak to moderate gold anomalies along with significant antimony antimony (ăn`tĭmō'nē) [Lat. antimoneum], semimetallic chemical element; symbol Sb [Lat. stibium,=a mark]; at. no. 51; at. wt. 121.75; m.p. 630.74°C;; b.p. 1,750°C;; sp. gr. Weisse Masse=white mass], metallic chemical element; symbol Bi; at. no. 83; at. wt. 208.9804; m.p. 271.3°C;; b.p. about 1,560°C;; sp. gr. 9.75 at 20°C;; valence +3 or +5. , mercury, arsenic and barium anomalies typical of high sulfidation epithermal environments. These anomalies occur within an east northeast - west southwest trending structural zone extending over a distance of 2,000 metres (see maps published on www.andinaminerals.com). More significant, however, was the discovery of a second north-south trending structural zone, 2,500 metres in length, exhibiting porphyry copper style characteristics associated with a strong molybdenum anomaly. At a 25 ppm cut off, the molybdenum anomaly extends over 2,500 metres north-south and 250 metres east-west. The core of the anomaly, 200 by 80 metres, grades between 150 to 275 ppm molybdenum with the best trench intersection of 225 ppm over 50 metres. The highest molybdenum value obtained from channel sampling was 1090 ppm. The presence of two possibly superimposed su·per·im·pose tr.v. su·per·im·posed, su·per·im·pos·ing, su·per·im·pos·es 1. Andina is presently reviewing the exploration results in preparation for a second phase of exploration which may include a program of reverse circulation drilling. Anocarire Project The Anocarire property is located 120 kilometres east of Arica, Chile and 65 kilometres south southeast of the Aroma property. The property overlies a prominent collapsed stratovolcano strat·o·vol·ca·no n. pl. strat·o·vol·ca·nos A volcano composed of alternating layers of lava and ash. Andina completed 2,500 metres of bulldozer trenching, and 268 channel samples, across a portion of alteration system. Results showed widespread strong anomalous mercury values with core anomalies ranging from 3 - 14 ppm. The highest gold value returned was 0.345 g/t, while average anomalous gold values ranged between 10 - 100 ppb which is typical for acid-leached, steam-heated alteration zones. The results of the first phase of exploration confirmed the presence of a large alteration system with characteristics similar to those overly major gold deposits in the Andes. The Company is presently reviewing the exploration results and will consider further exploration activities in conjunction with the next phase of exploration at the Aroma property. About Andina Minerals Inc. Andina is an Americas focused exploration company with a portfolio of precious metals and copper exploration projects in Chile and Mexico. The Company is dedicated to maximizing the value of its exploration assets through a commitment to fiscally responsible exploration. The company is earning a 100% interest in both the Aroma and Anocarire property by making a series of escalating payments till 2008. Michael Easdon, a Registered Professional Geologist of Santiago, Chile is the "Qualified Person" as defined by NI43-101 for this project and has reviewed and approved the contents of this press release. Further technical information on the Aroma and Anocarire properties can be found within Andina's Technical Report titled "Review of Gold and Copper Exploration Potential of Mineral Properties in Chile" dated November 12, 2004 and filed at www.sedar.com on November 24, 2004. At both the Aroma and Anocarire properties, samples varying in weight from four to six kilograms were collected over four-metre channels along the length of the bulldozer trenches. Samples were processed and analyzed at the ALS Als (äls), Ger.
