 ANDERSON JOINS F&C INTERNATIONAL, INC.
AS CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER AND APPOINTED TO BOARD
CINCINNATI, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Jon P. Fries, chairman and chief executive officer of F&C International, Inc. (NASDAQ: FCIN) has named Fletcher N. Anderson executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Anderson began his career in the specialty chemical business in 1951 as a chemical engineer in the uranium processing division of Mallinckrodt, Inc. During his career with Mallinckrodt, he held increasingly responsible positions as general manager, Drug and Cosmetic Chemicals, and later vice president of the Chemical Group, which consisted of four divisions engaged in the manufacture and marketing of specialty chemicals. In 1978 he was named senior vice president of Mallinckrodt, and the next year elected a director of the company. As head of the Chemical Group, Anderson had the senior management responsibility for Mallinckrodt's Fries & Fries division, which developed, manufactured and marketed flavors and fragrances.
Most recently Anderson was chief executive officer and director of Brulin & Co., a specialty chemical company. Prior to Brulin, he was chief executive officer and director of Chemtech Industries, a chemical distributor and manufacturer of specialty chemicals. Before joining Chemtech he was president and director of Chomerics, Inc., a multinational company engaged in the manufacture of specialty materials used by the electronic industry.
In the past two years F&C International's sales have grown three- fold to approximately $58 million. "Fletcher Anderson's broad experience in general management, operations and organization represent a valuable addition to the F&C staff following this period of rapid expansion," Fries said. "While building the flavor business of Fries & Fries, I developed a close business relationship with Fletcher which serves as the basis for us to work together in implementing our growth plan."
In addition to being named executive vice president and chief operating officer, Anderson was appointed by the board of directors as successor director to replace David Mueller who resigned for personal reasons.
F&C International is traded on the NASDAQ National Market System under the symbol "FCIN". F&C International is a creator and manufacturer of flavors and fragrances used by producers in the food, beverage, tobacco, personal care, household, institutional and pharmaceutical industries to impart or improve flavor or fragrance in a wide variety of consumer products.
