AND 1 Announces First European Mix Tape Tour; Hardcore Playground Ball Exported to Five Countries.

Sports Editors/Business Editors

PAOLI, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 22, 2003

Seth Berger, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of American-based basketball footwear and apparel company AND 1, announced today that the company's popular four-year old playground basketball tour, the AND 1 Mix Tape(R) Tour presented by Foot Locker Foot Locker, Inc. (NYSE: FL) is a major American sportswear and footwear retailer, with its headquarters in New York City, and operating in approximately 20 countries worldwide. It is the successor corporation to the F.W. Woolworth Company (“Woolworth’s”). , is coming to Europe for the first time.

This unique marriage of street basketball and hip hop music has a cult following in North America, where the tour has recently stopped in 33 cities from June through August. In late September, the best street ball players in the world will descend upon five European cities to showcase the gritty, rough-and-tumble style of basketball on America's playgrounds.

"Since the release of our first Mix Tape and the very first summer of the AND 1 Mix Tape Tour, we've gotten tons of calls and emails from kids around the world asking us to bring the Mix Tape Tour players over to them, and this is the year," said Berger.

"Foot Locker is basketball, so when AND 1 decided to bring the Mix Tape Tour to Europe, we just couldn't miss the opportunity to be involved," said Simone Williams, Brand Director Foot Locker Europe.

The AND 1 Mix Tape Tour will be in Paris on September 27th, Barcelona on September 30th, London on October 3rd, Milan on October 7th and Frankfurt on October 10th and features living legends Hot Sauce, Main Event, High Octane, Alimoe, AO, Prime Objective, Sik Wit It, Flash and Escalade es·ca·lade

While nearly unknown to the adult population, the AND 1 series of basketball videos and DVDs have attained global cult status among hard-core ball players and youth. After more than a year of giving away the mix tapes, a combination of crazy basketball footage and hip hop music, AND 1 took the show on the road across America for a three-city test in 1999. Now, four years later, the tour has reached over 250,000 basketball fans and elevated the Mix Tape Tour players to international icons.
