ANAREN ANNOUNCES LAYOFF SYRACUSE, N.Y., May 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Anaren Microwave Inc.
(NASDAQ: ANEN) announced a reduction in work force at its East Syracuse, N.Y., facility. This action was necessitated due to an anticipated lower sales volume in the coming fiscal year, and in an effort to reduce overall operating costs. Fourteen employees are immediately affected by the layoff and three additional positions have been eliminated through attrition. The reductions primarily involve overhead support positions, and bring the employment level of the company's U.S. operation to 266.
In a related action, the company has instituted salary reductions for its directors, officers and upper management personnel. Anaren designs and manufactures microwave components, assemblies and receiver systems for use in tactical electronics applications for defense of ships, aircraft and land vehicles.
