ANADIGICS Receives Production Orders From Samsung; Samsung is deploying ANADIGICS' Tuner IC Chipset in New Digital Set-top Box.

ANADIGICS, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANAD), a leading supplier of wireless and broadband communications solutions, announced today that the Company has received production orders for CATV tuner ICs (Integrated Circuits) from Samsung for use in their digital set-top box.

Samsung's DVB- RC set-top box will utilize ANADIGICS' ACU2109 upconverter IC, and ACD2202 downconverter dual synthesizer IC, to provide a high performance, double conversion RF tuner solution.

The ACU2109 is a monolithic GaAs upconverter designed to support the latest 256 quadrature-amplitude modulation (QAM) digital formats. This highly integrated, high performance upconverter provides the distortion and gain flatness required for simultaneous reception of 256-QAM digital and analog video signals, enabling increased channel capacity for CATV broadcast services. It will be paired with the ACD2202, which utilizes both GaAs and CMOS technology to provide the downconverter and dual synthesizer functions in a double conversion tuner.
