ANADIGICS Introduces 3Volt Tri-mode Dual-band PA Driver/3Volt PA.

Low cost PCS power amplifier and multi-mode, multi-band driver offer high-performance, small size, and low power consumption for handset designs.

ANADIGICS has introduced two new RFICs (radio frequency integrated circuits) that enable lighter, smaller multi-mode, multi-band handsets. The AWD5201S4 driver amplifier and the AWT4502S4 power amplifier were designed with the needs of wireless handset designers in mind, offering 3 volt operation, a small footprint, and 50 Ohm input/output matching. The power amplifier solutions meet the requirements of advanced dual-band, multi-mode phones that require higher integration, smaller sized packages, lower costs, and lower power consumption.

Measuring only 4 x 5 mm, the AWD5101S4 is a dual-band driver amplifier that supports PCS TDMA, Cellular TDMA, and AMPS digital and analog protocols. Featuring 50(OMEGA) input/output and an on-chip bias circuit, the MMIC only requires fixed voltages for optimal performance. The AWT4502S4 is a transmit power amplifier designed for PCS TDMA wireless handset applications. Delivering +28.5-dBm minimum output power, the device demonstrates a low quiescent current and excellent linearity.

The AWD5101S4 and the AWT4502S4 are available in 16-pin SSOP packages. In quantities of 10,000 pieces, the AWD5101S4 is priced under $3 and the AWT4502S4 is priced at $3.50. Samples are available.
