ATW Editor-in-Chief, Perry Flint, commends ANA for "transforming itself into a dynamic and profitable airline, despite the devastating impact of SARS and the Iraq War" and other challenges faced in recent years, such as fierce competition in ANA's home market of Japan and soaring fuel costs.

ATW goes on to highlight ANA's continued growth in profitability, its innovative products and facilities which harness the latest technologies, and its "groundbreaking launch order for what since has become the world's best-selling new airliner, the 787." Mr Flint said, "The editors also were impressed with ANA's superb passenger product, typified by its New Style Club ANA business class cabin and the Narita Airport Terminal 1 South Wing that opened last year."
