ANA Golden Week Holiday Passenger Traffic Forecast: Highest Ever International Reservations.

Tokyo, Japan, Apr 21, 2006 - (JCN Newswire) - ANA Group is forecasting increased passenger numbers for this year's Golden Week holiday period, which runs from Friday, April 28 to Sunday, May 7. Domestic reservations are up just over one percentage point, while international reservations have increased by more than 30 percentage points compared with Golden Week of the previous year - the highest ever recorded for this period.

The remarkable rise in demand for international services is attributed to the return of holidaymakers to China. Fewer holidaymakers traveled to China last year due to the effects of anti-Japan demonstrations there in April 2005. The residual effect of the demonstrations is now believed to have finished. Other destinations in Asia are also showing a strong performance.

On the domestic front, the reservations are slightly higher than Golden Week 2005. In particular, northern destinations including Hokkaido, and Kyushu, in the south, are proving most popular.
