AN INJURY HEADACHE FOR TRIBE.

Byline: JOHN FALLON John Fallon (born Cambuslang, 1940) was a goalkeeper for Celtic F.C., who was a member of the famous Lisbon Lions of 1967.

Fallon was taken on as a junior by Celtic, and soon was promoted to cover for the famous eccentric keeper Frank Haffey.

EXPERIENCED attacker Mark Kerins could become the third Galway player out of action for the season.

John McIntyre John McIntyre is the name of several people:
  • John McIntyre (musician)
  • John J. McIntyre (1904-1974) was a United States Representative from Wyoming
  • John McIntyre (bishop) is the bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Gippsland in Australia
has already lost promising defender Ciaran O'Donovan and Iarla Tannian, a forward ever-present in Galway's last two Championship campaigns.

Now Kerins is a serious doubt because of a persistent knee injury which may require surgery.

Selector John Moylan said that Kerins would miss the Championship if he has to go for surgery.

"We will know more in the next week or so but it looks like he will miss the opening game of the Championship against Laois.

Galway will begin their first campaign in Leinster when they take on Laois in Portlaoise on Sunday, May 31.

Meanwhile, Michael Meehan turned on the style as Galway strolled home in a senior football challenge at Ballinasloe last night.

Meehan scored 2-5, all but a point from play, as Galway looked like inflicting a drubbing on a Meath side who trailed by 2-17 to 1-5 at the end of the third quarter.

A Joe Sheridan point from a free ended a 27-minute barren spell for Meath, while the introduction of his brother Brian helped put respectabulity on the scoreline scoreline n (SPORT) → resultado final

Galway led by 1-10 to 1-5 at the interval after Meehan struck just before the break to cancel a Peadar Byrne goal after 20 minutes.

Meehan got his second of the match after 48 minutes, with sub JJ Greaney hitting three points for Liam Sammon's men.
