AN IMPORTANT BRIDGE CHURCH CONNECTS WITH GUATEMALANS.Byline: Sharon Cotal Staff Writer NEWHALL - Judy Chavez recently went on a mission trip to Guatemala with members of her church, hoping to bring some joy to the poverty- stricken people of the area. What surprised her was how much joy she received from the Guatemalan people. ``We went there thinking we were going to bless bless tr.v. blessed or blest , bless·ing, bless·es 1. I left there wanting to be more like them,'' Chavez said. While Chavez describes Guatemala as a beautiful country with lush vegetation vegetation /veg·e·ta·tion/ (vej?e-ta´shun) any plantlike fungoid neoplasm or growth; a luxuriant fungus-like growth of pathologic tissue. and lots of trees, she said Guatemala City Guatemala City City (pop., 1994: city, 823,301; 1999 est.: metro area, 3,119,000), capital of Guatemala. They don't have much, but they give you all they have,'' Chavez said. ``It was like that everywhere we went.''
