DESCRIBE YOUR BUSINESS: I serve traditional Japanese tea, among other things. We do birthday and special-occasion Japanese tea parties with special kimonos for people to wear.

IS THIS YOUR FIRST BUSINESS? Yes

WHY DID YOU START THIS BUSINESS? I want people to enjoy the tea and party with Japanese culture.

WHERE DID YOU GET THE IDEA? I thought of it based on my personal experiences living in Japan and my love for the culture and customs.

HOW LONG WAS IT FROM CONCEPT TO OPENING? A few months

WHAT DID YOU DO DURING THAT TIME? I planned what the shop would look like and did a lot of shopping for unique, authentic pieces of furniture.

WHAT WERE YOUR STARTUP COSTS AND HOW DID YOU FINANCE THE BUSINESS? $50,000, from help from my family.

WHO DID YOU RELY ON FOR ADVICE? I relied on my sister and some of her experience in the business world. She owns a cement cement, binding material used in construction and engineering, often called hydraulic cement, typically made by heating a mixture of limestone and clay until it almost fuses and then grinding it to a fine powder.  company in Taiwan.

WHAT HADN'T YOU CONSIDERED BEFORE OPENING? So far nothing.

WHAT IS YOUR EXPECTED REVENUE THIS YEAR? At least $50,000

WHAT GOALS DO YOU HAVE FOR THE COMPANY? I hope it'll be successful and that people will enjoy my teahouse. I think it's a unique concept, and I hope that it will be received well.
