AN A FOR PTA MOM WOMAN HAILED FOR SERVICE TO CASTAIC AREA.Byline: Sharon Cotal Staff Writer CASTAIC - The Castaic Area Town Council has awarded its highest honor to a mother of three whose volunteer work has contributed to the Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672. . Danya Nordenstrom, a 15-year Castaic resident, was given a certificate of appreciation at a Town Council meeting Sept. 18 for her service to the community, which includes 2 1/2 years as president of the Castaic Middle School Parent Teachers Association. ``We looked at her work with the PTA PTA or parent-teacher association: see parent education. , as well as other things that she has done, and we decided that she was definitely deserving de·serv·ing adj. award,'' Councilman Jim D'Addario said. ``She's

She is the secretary for the Castaic Middle School PTA and the board treasurer for the Santa Clarita Valley PTA. She is a member of the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce Educational Foundation and president of the Paradise Ranch ranch, large farm devoted chiefly to raising and breeding cattle, horses, sheep, and goats. The cattle ranch was introduced from Latin America to Texas and the plains of the W United States and Canada. Mobile Homeowners Association, where she has led the fight for fair rent and water- quality standards in her community.
