AMY WOODS BRINKLEY NAMED NATIONSBANK MARKETING EXECUTIVE

CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Amy Woods Brinkley, Senior Consumer Credit Policy executive at NationsBank (NYSE: NB) and a 15-year veteran of the company, has been named NationsBank Marketing executive.
"I am quite excited that Amy has agreed to take on this new challenge," said G. Patrick Phillips, president of NationsBank Financial Products. "Amy has been very successful as Consumer Bank Credit Policy executive and in that role has helped us grow our consumer portfolios from 22 percent to 41 percent of total loans, while at the same time improving credit quality.
"In her new position, she can take that approach to the full line of NationsBank consumer and commercial products."
Brad Iversen, who came to NationsBank in 1988 as Consumer Marketing Division executive, assumes an expanded Marketing Services executive role, which includes NationsBank involvement as a sponsor of the 1996 Olympic Games and positioning the company with consumers and commercial clients throughout the United States.
"Our Olympics marketing strategy will take an enormous amount of time, skill and vision," Phillips said. "NationsBank has more than quadrupled in size in the last five years. With that growth has come high visibility in markets where NationsBank is becoming a household name. We have found that we do a tremendous job of meeting our customers' needs and expectations when we focus our efforts, and these two appointments will help us do that."
In addition to Olympics marketing, Iversen is responsible for Marketing Planning, Marketing Information & Analysis, Advertising & Promotion and Automated Banking.
"NationsBank is very fortunate to have two people of the skill and caliber of Amy Brinkley and Brad Iversen, who can elevate the marketing efforts of this company to new levels," Phillips said.
Brinkley, who has overall responsibility for NationsBank Marketing, will have direct responsibility for Product Development, Marketing Training and Regional Marketing.
Brinkley, an executive vice president, joined NationsBank in 1978 in Charlotte as a credit analyst. She was promoted to banking officer and senior credit analyst in 1979 and became an assistant vice president in 1980. In 1983, she moved to Greensboro as a vice president and commercial lending officer. She was promoted to senior vice president in 1988 and named credit policy executive. Brinkley was named executive vice president and senior Consumer Credit Policy executive in October 1990.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel B. Woods of Charlotte, Brinkley graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1978. She is married to Robert Brinkley, formerly of Greenville, NC. The Brinkleys have two children and live in Charlotte.
Iversen, an executive vice president, joined NationsBank in 1988 as Consumer Marketing Division executive. Previously, he was a senior vice president for MasterCard International in New York City, in charge of MasterCard's strategic marketing planning and human resources.
Iversen earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts and his master's degree from the Graduate School of Business of Columbia University. He is a member of the board of directors of Interlink Inc.; the Bank Marketing Association, and HONOR, the Southeast ATM network.
Iversen and his wife, Kathy, have two sons. They live in Charlotte.
In related moves, David Watterworth, Consumer Banking executive for NationsBank in Florida, will move to Charlotte as Consumer Credit Policy executive, replacing Brinkley. Adelaide (Alex) Sink, Tampa Bay Region Consumer Banking executive, will become Consumer Banking executive for Florida.
NationsBank Corporation is the fourth-largest banking company in the United States with $118 billion in assets and full-service banking centers in nine states and the District of Columbia.
