AMX integrator Quantum Technologies, Inc of Huntsville, Ala., recently completed a series of installations at the Federal Courthouse in Fargo, N.D., integrating systems in courtrooms, videoconferencing rooms and public areas.

Quantum Technologies project manager Chris Banks worked closely with the customer during the planning and installation phase of the project to provide a complete, integrated system. AMX touch panels keep order of the audio, video and teleconferencing devices in the courtrooms; from the control panel, the Judge and Clerk may preview or display any source they choose, or control the room's lighting and window shades.

An evidence presentation cart provides a document camera, color video printer, annotation tablet, and VCR, and the attorneys may connect their laptop computers to the system for display on monitors in the jury, witness and gallery areas. A shared codec in the master control room provides multiple rooms access to the videoconferencing system. In addition to the presentation systems, the installation includes simultaneous translation and assisted listening systems.
