AMX Enjoys Success During CEDIA Expo 2002.

The recent CEDIA Expo 2002 was a significant success for AMX (Nasdaq:AMXC), the worldwide leader in advanced control system technology.

The company came to the show with new products, new strategies and increased commitment to the residential market and its dealers. AMX not only successfully reintroduced itself to the residential market, it won a best product award, and AMX dealers received 10 out of 12 best system installation awards.

AMX was recognized for its innovation in the development of its Design XPress solution, which received the Best Home Networking Product award. Design XPress is a software package that enables dealers to quickly install a system that can distribute audio in a multi-room environment, control thermostats and lighting, provide intercom functionality and select video sources. AMX will continue to provide ongoing product enhancements and has already introduced Design XPress 1.1 with added features and flexibility.

During the dealer awards portion of the Electronic Lifestyles(TM) Awards banquet, AMX dealers swept the Best Home Theater category with awards at all five levels. AMX dealers also received awards for Best Media Room, Best Integrated Home, Best Special Project, Best Hidden Installation and Best Dressed System. AMX dealers received 10 awards out of a possible 12.

In addition, Engineered Environments, an exclusive AMX Platinum Dealer based in Oakland, Calif., was selected as CEDIA Dealer of the Year. The company, which boasts a combined 125 years of experience in the residential market, has a track record of success working with architects, designers and builders to incorporate AMX control technology throughout its many connected home environment projects.

AMX National Residential Marketing Manager David Nowak was recognized as the CEDIA Volunteer of the Year for his extensive work with the organization. Nowak's volunteer work with CEDIA includes a designation as subject matter expert for all three levels of CEDIA's professional certification exams. He also serves as dean of CEDIA Expo's New and Emerging Technologies track and was selected to the CEDIA Education Council as chairman of technical training.
