: AMSY AMSY American Management Systems, Inc (stock symbol) ) announced that it has received the Imaging Ace(TM) Innovation Award, sponsored by The Rheinner Group, for technical excellence in developing, integrating and installing complex customer applications using document imaging and work flow technology.

The award was presented at INSPIRE '96: The Reseller An organization that sells hardware and software to the general public. AMS was one of the three winning integrators and resellers demonstrating technical excellence and innovative business strategies.

AMS was recognized for a large-scale implementation of RecordLink(R) and AccountLink(TM) (formerly called PatientLink), two AMS client/server-based document imaging and work flow application products for patient information management based on the FileNet Corporation's imaging platform. AMS implemented the solutions at St. Vincent Hospitals and Health Services health services Managed care The benefits covered under a health contract  in Indianapolis, the largest hospital complex in the Daughters of Charity National Health System, East Central Region.

St. Vincent encompasses five major locations (with approximately 1,000 beds) and more than 20 satellite treatment facilities in central Indiana. St. Vincent uses AMS's RecordLink and AccountLink software applications to gain quicker access to vital patient information, and speed review and completion of patient records.

RecordLink manages the processing, storage and retrieval of patient medical records by physicians, nurses and other clinical and administrative staff throughout the hospital. AccountLink directs the work flow and documents associated with inpatient admission and outpatient registration, as well as billing, collections and follow-up. It simplifies the preadmission and admission processes, facilitates billing, and expedites the reconciliation of payer and patient inquiries.

The medical records staff will be celebrating one year of paperless operations in March 1996. The St. Vincent system is one of the largest document imaging and work flow implementations in healthcare, with 280 document imaging workstations and an annual volume of over 16 million pages of document images processed per year.
