AMREL Introduces Wearable Modular Computer at LandWarNet.

EL MONTE, Calif. -- American Reliance, Inc. (AMREL) announced that it will introduce the HC-2, a rugged new computer platform for wearable and handheld applications, at the LandWarNet Conference, August 18-20 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

With up to 128GB solid-state storage in an incredibly light 2-pound platform, the HC-2 is the ideal solution when power and mobility are critical. Its Intel([R]) Atom[TM] Processor provides a fully functioning Windows XP environment, while the compact form factor slips comfortably into a cargo pocket and can even be decreased to be truly wearable.

"The HC-2 packs a big punch in a small package," states Ron McMahan, Chief Operating Officer of AMREL. "The small form factor is impressive, but what we're really excited about is HC-2's outstanding flexibility."

The HC-2 has a simple interface that enables easy integration of small application modules, which can be outfitted for virtually any purpose, including biometrics, data collection, sensor monitoring, and battlefield medical diagnostics. Since they can be switched in the field, the versatile application modules make the HC-2 a single system solution for multiple tasks.

Deployed personnel will like HC-2's connectivity to military tactical radios, which allow total access to any battlefield network. Since it is an AMREL product, it is fully compliant to MIL-STD 810F.

The HC-2 is part of AMREL's FLEX series of adaptable mobile computer platforms. The FLEX series originated when the device bay of a ROCKY computer notebook was modified to accept Radio Command Modules. This revolutionary patent-pending technology, known as FLEX Connect, enabled the notebook to be used as a control unit for multiple unmanned systems and to be easily adapted for a variety of different applications. The HC-2 incorporates FLEX connectivity in a smaller form factor.
