AMP ELECTS WILLIAM J. HUDSON AS PRESIDENT, CEO, JAMES E. MARLEY CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD, TO SUCCEED HAROLD A. MCINNES, RETIRING CHAIRMAN AND CEO
 HARRISBURG, Pa., Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- In a letter being sent to shareholders, AMP Incorporated (NYSE: AMP) announced that on Sept. 25, 1992, the board of directors took the following actions effective Jan. 1, 1993:
 -- William J. Hudson (age 58), currently Executive Vice President- International, was elected President and Chief Executive Officer. Hudson has been with AMP since 1961. He has an electrical engineering degree from Cornell University.
 -- James E. Marley (age 57), currently President and Chief Operating Officer, was elected Chairman of the Board. Marley has been with AMP since 1963 and has aeronautical and mechanical engineering degrees from Penn State and Drexel universities.
 -- Harold A. McInnes (age 65) continues as a board member and was elected Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board -- succeeding Walter F. Raab, retired AMP Chairman and CEO, who continues as a board member.
 McInnes noted that these actions continue the AMP tradition of evolutionary management succession from within. Hudson and Marley commented that they intend to build on and extend the successful goals, policies and strategies now in place.
