AMO Announces Four New Executive Team Members.

Allergan, Inc. (NYSE:AGN) and Advanced Medical Optics, Inc. (AMO) today announced that four key positions on AMO's executive team have been filled with the additions of Richard A. Meier, Jane E. Rady, C. Russell Trenary, III and Peter Nolan.

Richard "Randy" Meier has been named Corporate Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of AMO. Mr. Meier comes to AMO with over 15 years of experience in a variety of roles in financial and pharmaceutical industries. Most recently he was at ICN Pharmaceuticals as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President, where he provided financial leadership and direction as part of its strategic reorganization, and gained broad international experience. Prior to ICN, Mr. Meier worked for Schroder & Co., Smith Barney, Inc. and Manufacturer Hanover Corp. in a variety of banking capacities. Mr. Meier will be responsible for managing AMO's worldwide financial organization, including accounting, treasury, tax, corporate communications and information services.

Jane Rady has been appointed Corporate Vice President, Strategy and Technology. She joins AMO with over 20 years of experience in research, development and strategic planning. Ms. Rady was formerly Chief Executive Officer of Integrated Genomics, Inc. While there, she led their transition from a contract service business into a biopharmaceutical company based upon proprietary products developed through genomic research. Ms. Rady also has previously worked with Monsanto, GD Searle and Abbott Laboratories in various leadership roles. She has served on the board of directors for Lorex Pharmaceutical and Telor Pharmaceutical. In her new role, Ms. Rady will be responsible for developing AMO's strategic and technological direction.

Russ Trenary assumed the position of Corporate Vice President and President, Americas. He previously worked for Allergan as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Surgical Products. Most recently, Mr. Trenary was the President, CEO and Chairman of Sunrise Technologies, where he led the company in its pursuit of a laser refractive solution for the treatment of hyperopia. Mr. Trenary also served as the World Wide Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at VidaMed Inc. At AMO, Mr. Trenary will be responsible for the development and strategic execution for direct sales, marketing, customer service and third-party distribution throughout the United States, Canada, and all of Latin America.

Peter Nolan has joined AMO as Vice President, Operations. He brings over 20 years of manufacturing and operations experience to the company. Prior to joining AMO, Mr. Nolan was Senior Vice President, Global Operation at GN Resound Corporation, where he was responsible for the strategic direction of global manufacturing operations following a number of major acquisitions. Mr. Nolan was previously with Wang Laboratories in Limerick, Ireland and served in various manufacturing management positions. In his new position, he will spearhead the development and implementation of AMO's world-class manufacturing and distribution operations for its products.
