LLC - Logical Link Control
, which offers information management solutions for health care payers, has selected Transoft Inc. as an application transformation provider for its new HP-UX HP's version of Unix that runs on its 9000 family. It is based on SVID and incorporates features from BSD Unix along with several HP innovations.

 product, AMISYS Advance.

Following an extensive investigation of transition options, AMISYS selected Transoft, a leading application transformation company, because of its established record of providing efficient tools-based migration solutions, Al Gain, AMISYS vice president of product development, said.

With 75 current installed customers and 22 timeshare customers on AMISYS 3000(R), AMISYS has one of the largest customer bases in the healthcare IT industry. Working with its customers, AMISYS recently announced its strategy to transition its AMISYS 3000 product to the HP-UX platform. The transition plan focuses on maintaining the product's extensive functionality and scalability.

Transoft is a leading expert in application transformation, with more than 15 years experience in COBOL COBOL: see programming language.

 or NT environments.

"AMISYS is one of the largest independent software vendors (ISVs) for the HP e3000, and a key customer in the healthcare industry for Hewlett-Packard," Gain said. "We sought a leading partner who could help us quickly and successfully transition our COBOL programs and jobs to an open systems environment. It was clear that Transoft, with its 'open technology road map' and 'can do' approach, would be the perfect partner to enable us to meet our timeline and satisfy our customers' needs."

"We were delighted that AMISYS chose Transoft to help them with this very important transition project," commented Paul Holland Paul Holland (born 8 July 1973 in Lincoln) is a former English footballer, and is currently assistant manager at League Two club Mansfield Town. Holland has previously served as the club's youth team coach, and was appointed caretaker manager following Peter Shirtliff's dismissal , Transoft's chief executive officer. "We have been honing our proven migration tools to meet the specific needs of this market. That is why today we are the only company that offers a complete transformation solution based on the promise of 'don't just move - improve!'"

Transoft is the only company that offers a complete migration solution. Its unique approach means that applications can be transitioned from the HP e3000 without risk and at a fraction of the cost of redeveloping the application. Transoft goes beyond a migration by giving customers the option to move their application into new technologies - either Windows or browser-based user interfaces, or a Web Services (1) Loosely, any online service delivered over the Web.
