AMISYS Names Three Industry Veterans to Serve in Key Leadership Positions in New Organization.

Steve Rock, president and CEO of AMISYS, LLC, which offers comprehensive information management solutions for health care payers, has named three industry veterans to key leadership positions in the new company.

Kathleen McCarthy has been appointed chief operating officer of AMISYS. She is accountable for overseeing day-to-day operations of the company, and will work to execute its business strategies and establish the company as an independent organization with a focus on customer satisfaction.

In addition:

Cheryl Wint has been named vice president of customer support and services. She will lead the group that provides business and technical consulting services, implementation support, custom development services and ongoing maintenance and support for AMISYS customers.

Al Gain has been named vice president of product development. He is responsible for the development, maintenance and documentation of the AMISYS(R) 3000 product line and also will maintain the company's internal infrastructure in conjunction with its information systems department.

Platinum Equity, a leader in acquiring and operating technology companies, acquired AMISYS in July. AMISYS will work in tandem with another Platinum company, Synertech(R) Health System Solutions, LLC, Harrisburg, Pa., a premier application services provider and administrative outsourcer to the health payer industry (www.synertechsystems.com).

McCarthy joined AMISYS in 1993. She has an extensive background in all aspects of software development and support, serving the company at various times as project manager, implementation manager, director of training and documentation, director and then vice president of customer service, and, most recently, as general manager.

McCarthy brings 24 years of experience in health care operations to her new position. Before coming to AMISYS, she worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of the National Capital Area for 16 years.

There, she served in a variety of sales and management positions, including as a national account representative working closely with such clients as Bell Atlantic, Crestar Bank and First American Bank, and as manager of customer service for Medicare.

McCarthy, of Clarksville, Md., received a bachelor's degree in biological science from Rutgers University and a master's degree in business administration from Averett College.

Wint, of Upper Marlboro, Md., joined AMISYS in 1994 and has served in a variety of management and executive positions. Most recently, she was executive director of product support for the company's call center. Under her direction, the call center made a number of measurable improvements, including reducing case backlogs and improving customer satisfaction.

Wint's health care experience includes nine years at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of the National Capital Area, where among her responsibilities was supervision of several customer service functions.

Gain, of Monrovia, Md., began his career at AMISYS in 1992 and has worked on the AMISYS 3000 product line for nine years, first as a programmer analyst and later in management positions. Most recently, he served as executive director of product development. He has 20 years of information systems experience, and before coming to AMISYS worked in the manufacturing and retail industries.
