Michael Amick has been appointed executive vice president-Forest Products and Industrial Packaging, and that Milan J. Turk has been appointed executive vice president-Specialty Businesses. Robert M. Amen will become president-International Paper-Europe. "Among International Paper's many strengths is the quality and depth of our management team," said John A. Georges, International Paper's chairman and chief executive officer. "Today's appointments will make us a more competitive organization as we step up our efforts to become even more successful in the global marketplace." Amick -- who will be responsible for the company's Kraft Paper, Board and Packaging, Land and Timber, and Logging and Fiber Supply, as well as Logistics, Wood Products and Land Utilization -- has been president-International Paper-Europe, since March 1992. Before that, he was vice president and group executive-Specialty Industrial Papers. Before 1988, he held several senior positions with the company, including vice president-Environment and Health. Turk -- who will be responsible for Arizona Arizona (âr'əzō`nə), state in the southwestern United States.
