AMI Semiconductor Announces Contract Extension for President & Chief Executive Officer.

 Holding, Inc. (Nasdaq:AMIS), parent company of AMI Semiconductor, a designer and manufacturer of state-of-the-art integrated mixed-signal products and structured digital products for the automotive, medical and industrial sectors, today announced that its Board of Directors and Chris King have agreed to extend King's employment as president and chief executive officer through the fourth quarter of 2008.

King joined AMIS in August 2001 as the first female CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of a semiconductor company. In September 2003 she took the company public and has met the challenge of leading a public company by overseeing four years of growth driven by a commitment to diversify the company's technology and product offerings. King's strategy for success is based on evaluating core competencies and key strengths, applying these to significant strategic markets, and then focusing company resources on specific objectives within those markets.

She has led AMIS through three acquisitions during her tenure including Dspfactory, the Micro Power Products Division of Microsemi Corporation (Nasdaq:MSCC MSCC Motlow State Community College (Lynchburg, TN)
MSCC Morgan Sports Car Club
MSCC Manila Sports Car Club
MSCC Mission Springs Community Church (Fremont, CA)
MSCC Mazda Sports Car Club
) and the mixed-signal division of Alcatel Microelectronics. Most recently, she has continued her strategy of growth through diversification and product offerings and announced the company's agreement to acquire the semiconductor division of Flextronics.

Prior to joining AMIS, King was vice president of Semiconductor Products for IBM's microelectronics division. Her 23 years of experience at IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  included launching the company's ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) Pronounced "a-sick." A chip that is custom designed for a specific application rather than a general-purpose chip such as a microprocessor.  business in 1993 and growing it into the number one ASIC business in the world.
