AMI Releases Much Anticipated AMIDiag 5.0; New Version Based on Award-Winning Predecessor.ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 7, 1996--American Megatrends Inc. (AMI) has released AMIDiag 5.0, the upgrade to the award-winning AMIDiag 4.5. This much anticipated release brings PC diagnostics to a new level, offering the most advanced system information and computer diagnostics available today. This latest version of AMIDiag offers a comprehensive list of tests, including diagnostics for the new Pentium(TM) Pro processor, CD-ROM drives, SCSI SCSI in full Small Computer System Interface Once common standard for connecting peripheral devices (disks, modems, printers, etc.) to small and medium-sized computers. SCSI has given way to faster standards, such as Firewire and USB. devices, PCI bus, and Plug & Play devices.
