AMI DODUCO Raises Prices on Electrical Contacts and Semi-Finished Products in Europe.


PFORZHEIM Pforzheim (pfôrts`hīm), city (1994 pop. 117,450), Baden-Württemberg, SW Germany, on the Enz River, at the northern end of the Black Forest. It is the center of the German jewelry and watchmaking industry. Other manufactures include machinery, electrical equipment, and paper., Germany -- AMI DODUCO, a Technitrol (NYSE:TNL) Company, announced that it has increased prices for its electrical contacts and semi-finished materials and parts made and sold in Europe due to sharply higher costs of raw materials, energy and other consumables. Product prices have increased between 3% and 8%, depending upon product type, for orders placed after January 31, 2005 unless contractually prevented. Most affected are products containing steel, non-ferrous base metals and tungsten powder. The announcement follows similar actions pertaining to contacts and bimetal products in AMI DODUCO's North American market.
