AMI DODUCO Adds Capabilities to China Facility To Address Expanding Markets.

AMI DODUCO, a Technitrol (NYSE:TNL) Company, announced that during 2004, it will make additional investments to broaden the capabilities of its facility in Tianjin, the People's Republic of China. The expansion is in response to increasing demand for electrical contact products from the expanding operations of AMI DODUCO's global customers in East Asia as well as from rapidly growing domestic electrical device markets.

AMI DODUCO - Tianjin (ADT) will add capabilities to manufacture advanced contact materials such as cadmium-free silver metal oxides for domestic use or for export to the European market. Other new capabilities will include expanded rivet making, part stamping and component subassembly operations that integrate stamping, welding and rivet staking to produce contact elements for customers producing switching devices, relays and other commercial and industrial controls.

Expansion of the ADT facility includes adding 4,500 square feet to the facility's current 59,000 square feet to accommodate manufacturing and tooling for stamping and integrated subassembly production. Specialized equipment will be relocated from Europe. AMI DODUCO's North American and European manufacturing locations will assist in supplying engineering know-how and coordinating the technology transfer for silver metal oxide and clad engineered materials to support all the technology needs of ADT's customer base. ADT will add approximately 50 manufacturing operators to its existing staff of 150 in the coming year and is in the process of adding four sales engineers to keep up with increasing demand.
