Sponsored by the biotechnology company Amgen, the eight-day race covers between 650-700 miles (1,045 - 1,126 km). bicycle race. The all-male race will start Feb. 18. Participants will come to Santa Clarita from the west, following state Route 126 to the Valencia Industrial Center. The course will follow the highway to Avenue Stanford, then take a southwest course to Avenue Scott, McBean Parkway, Valencia Boulevard, Tourney tourney: see tournament. Road and Magic Mountain Parkway, stopping at the Valencia Town Center. To be included, the city had to agree to close roads as necessary and provide police and marketing services for the race. The race, in its second year, raises money for cancer treatment. |
