Today's announcement is the first in a series of appointments formalizing AMFM's cluster strategy in each of its top 25 markets. In related news, Ken Christensen was named Vice President and General Manager of KOST-FM and KFI-AM in Los Angeles. The appointments are effective immediately.

Reporting directly to each market's Regional Vice President of Operations, the Cluster Vice Presidents will have ultimate responsibility for each AMFM station in their station group, with a primary emphasis on maximizing the cluster opportunity through top-line growth, ratings performance, expense control and the recruitment of on-air talent and operations personnel.

James E. de Castro, Vice Chairman of AMFM Inc. and President and Chief Executive Officer of AMFM Radio, stated, "Although the ability to cluster radio properties is relatively new, the former Chancellor and Capstar organizations are veterans at exploiting the combined strengths of multiple stations in a marketplace, having already developed some of the industry's most innovative management strategies. Intensifying our cluster focus enhances our ability to continue delivering great programming, a great advertising medium, and leading revenue and broadcast cash flow growth."

Mr. Visotcky, is a Los Angeles radio veteran, having engineered the successful roll-out of KCMG-FM 'Mega 100' in Los Angeles and its 'Jammin' Oldies' format, which debuted in November 1998 and achieved a No. 2 ranking in its target demographic (adults aged 25-54) in less than a year. He was most recently Market Manager for AMFM's Denver cluster. Prior to his efforts at `Mega 100', he was the General Manager of AMFM's highly successful KYLD-FM in San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden , where he executed a dramatic turnaround that took the station from 18th place (12+) to No. 1 (12-49) in a few short years. Mr. Ongaro, a 19-year broadcasting veteran, began his career with Sundance Broadcasting, which was later sold to Chancellor Broadcasting in 1997, the predessor to AMFM. Most recently, he served as the Vice President and General Manager for AMFM's KDGE-FM and KZPS-FM in Dallas, which he led to achieve a number one rankings in its target demographic (adults 25-54). Mr. Ongaro's other sales and management experience includes positions with KIDO-AM and KIDQ-FM in Boise and WMIL-FM and WOKY-AM in Milwaukee, a 1993 Marconi Award recipient. Mr. Ongaro earned his bachelor's degree from Ohio State University Ohio State University, main campus at Columbus; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1870, opened 1873 as Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical College, renamed 1878. There are also campuses at Lima, Mansfield, Marion, and Newark.  and currently serves as President of the Association of Radio Managers of Dallas-Ft. Worth.

Mr. Schofield, a 23-year broadcasting veteran, most recently served as Regional Vice President of Sales for AMFM and was responsible for the sales effort of 30 radio stations in six markets. From 1993 to 1998, Mr. Schofield served as General Manager of WUSL-FM (Power 99) in Philadelphia where he led the station to achieve a top ranking in its target demographic (adults 18-34) for five years running. His other radio broadcasting experience includes General Management experience at WEZB-FM in New Orleans New Orleans (ôr`lēənz –lənz, ôrlēnz`), city (2006 pop. 187,525), coextensive with Orleans parish, SE La., between the Mississippi River and Lake Pontchartrain, 107 mi (172 km) by water from the river mouth; founded  and WJBO-AM and WFMF-FM in Baton Rouge Baton Rouge (băt`ən rzh) [Fr.,=red stick], city (1990 pop. 219,531), state capital and seat of East Baton Rouge parish, SE La. .

Mr. Schram, a 24-year broadcasting veteran, was most recently Vice President and General Manager for WNIC-FM and WKQI-FM in Detroit. In three short years Mr. Schram led WNIC (Wireless Network Interface Card) See wireless adapter.  to its first-ever number one ranking for listeners 12+ and adults 25-54, an achievement which established WNIC as Detroit's highest revenue-earning station in 1998, a position it maintains today. Before joining WNIC in 1996, Mr. Schram served as Director of Marketing at WJBK-TV, where he helped direct the station's switch to the FOX network from CBS (Cell Broadcast Service) See cell broadcast. . His previous broadcast experience includes radio general management positions in Fort Wayne Fort Wayne, city (1990 pop. 173,072), seat of Allen co., NE Ind., where the St. Joseph and St. Marys rivers join to form the Maumee River; inc. 1840. It is the second largest city in the state, a major railroad and shipping point, a wholesale and distribution hub,  and Milwaukee and on-air positions in Detroit.

Upon completion of announced transactions, AMFM will own five FM and two AM stations in Los Angeles including: KKBT-FM `The Beat', KCMG-FM `Mega 100', KYSR-FM `Star 98.7', KBIG-FM, KOST-FM, KLAC-AM and KFI-AM. In Dallas, AMFM owns or operates KHKS-FM, KZPS-FM, KDGE-FM, KSKY-AM, KTXQ-FM and KFBF-FM. In Philadelphia, AMFM owns WDAS-FM, WUSL-FM, WJJZ-FM, WIOQ-FM, WYXR-FM, and WDAS-AM. In Detroit, AMFM owns WNIC-FM, WJLB-FM, WMXD-FM, WWWW-FM, WKQI-FM, WDFN-AM and WYUR-AM.
