 team for its Washington D.C. cluster, it was announced today by Bennett Zier, Market Executive Vice President for AMFM's Washington D.C. station group. Catherine Meloy, Jim Zagami and Jim Weiskopf were named to the newly created positions of Senior Vice President of Sales, Vice President/Director of Sales and Director of AM Sales and Operations, respectively. The appointments are effective immediately.

Ms. Meloy will add Senior Vice President of Sales for the Washington D.C. market to her current role as Senior Vice President and General Manager of `Oldies Oldies is a generic term commonly used to describe a radio format that usually concentrates on Top 40 music from the '50s, '60s and '70s.

Oldies are typically from R&B, pop and rock music genres.

Ms. Meloy has been instrumental in WBIG's growth to one of D.C.'s top stations, and in 1998 received the Marconi Award for `Best Oldies Station in the Country' from the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). Prior to joining AMFM, Mr. Zagami worked his way up through the ranks at CBS' WLTT-FM (now WARW-FM) in Washington D.C, where from 1987 through 1994 he served as the station's Account Executive, National Sales Manager and Local Sales Manager. Mr. Zagami's other radio sales experience includes positions with WMAL-AM, WTOP-AM and WWDC-FM in Washington D.C.

Mr. Weiskopf a Washington D.C. native, who presently serves as the General Sales Manager for `Sports Talk' 980 WTEM-AM, will now serve as Director of AM Sales and Operations for `Sports Talk' 980 WTEM-AM, `Business Radio' 570 WRC-AM and WGAY-AM. Mr. Weiskopf joined AMFM in 1995 serving as Local Sales Manager for WTOP-AM in Washington D.C. Mr. Weiskopf's other D.C. sales management experience includes positions with WTEM-AM and WBIG-FM, both of which are now AMFM Inc. stations. Mr. Weiskopf's extensive sales experience on the West Coast includes sales positions with KGO-AM and KFOG-FM in San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden , and KABC-AM and KFWB-AM in Los Angeles. For the last three years, Mr. Weiskopf has served on the planning committee for the Radio Advertising Bureau's (RAB Rab (räb), Ital.
