An independent maintenance audit conducted by Moss-Adams LLP
        <
reveals that United Airlines (NASDAQ: UAUA) violated a key
        <
clause of its agreement with its mechanics' union, the
        <
Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA). Outsourcing
        <
is 50% above contractual limits.
        <

Joseph Prisco, AMFA Local 9 President said, "The audit also
        <
supports AMFA's position that UAL abdicated responsibility for
        <
direct performance of safety sensitive aircraft maintenance to
        <
an extent that is neither contractually permitted nor in the
        <
best interest of the traveling public.

In the past six years, UAL reduced its maintenance workforce by

over 50%." Thousands of mechanics remain on layoff.
