AMFA Leaders at All Represented Airlines Agree to Support August 20 Strike by Northwest Mechanics.

) leaders at all airlines represented by the union unanimously passed a resolution "to implement whatever form of action necessary" to support Northwest Airlines members in the likely event of a strike beginning August 20.

"This resolution gives us a clear mandate to do whatever is needed within the law to maximize the effectiveness and breadth of a strike against Northwest Airlines. We are putting together our plan and our options," said AMFA National Director O.V. Delle-Femine.

The resolution reads: "In the event that a strike is called on behalf of the AMFA membership at Northwest Airlines, the union leadership of all AMFA-represented carriers unanimously resolves to implement whatever form of action necessary to support the AMFA membership of Northwest Airlines."
