 AMEX TO OPEN OPTIONS TRADING ON MNC FINANCIAL CORP.
 NEW YORK, April 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Stock Exchange today


announced that it will open options trading tomorrow, April 8, on the listed stock of MNC Financial, Inc. (ticker symbol: MNC).
 Based in Baltimore, Md., MNC Financial is a bank holding company. MNC will open with strike prices of 5, 7-1/2, and 10, and position limits of 8,000 contracts. Initial expiration months will be May, June, September and December of 1992. Cohen, Cohn, Duffy & McGowan, Inc./Aegis & Co. has been designated the specialist unit for the new options.
 The Amex trades a total of 277 stock options, including 81 options on over-the-counter stocks. In addition, options are traded on five broad market indexes -- the Major Market Index (XMI), XMI LEAPS (TM) (XLT), S&P MidCap 400 Index (MID), the Institutional Index (XII) and the Japan Index (JPN) -- as well as two industry-based indexes --the Oil Index (XOI) and the Computer Technology Index (XCI). CAPS -- capped options -- are traded on XMI and XII as well. The exchange also trades 29 LEAPS (TM) on leading stocks which have expirations up to almost three years.
