NEW YORK, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Stock Exchange began trading options today on Morgan Stanley's Cyclical and Consumer Indexes (ticker symbols: CYC and CMR, respectively). Both indexes were developed by Morgan Stanley in 1992.
The Cyclical Index opened with strike prices of 270, 275, 280, 285 and 290 on an index level of 278.12. The Consumer Index opened with strike prices of 175, 180, 185, 190 and 195 on an index level of 184.18. Initial expiration months for options on both indexes are October, November and December of 1993, and March and June of 1994. Susquehanna Investment Group is the specialist unit for the new options.
The Amex trades a total of 341 stock options, including 95 options on over-the-counter stocks, as well as 43 LEAPS(R) (Long-term Equity AnticiPation Securities)(R). In addition, options are traded on six broad market indexes and six industry-based indexes.
