AMETEK Solidstate Controls Selects nPhase To Enable Wireless SmartServices For Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS).

CHICAGO -- AMETEK Solidstate Controls (NYSE:AME), announced today that it has selected nPhase, a leading global provider of machine to machine (M2M) solutions, to develop and deploy a wireless SmartService enterprise monitoring solution for AMETEK's Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) and Battery Management Systems deployed in Nuclear and Fossil Power Generation, Petrochemical and other related industrial markets.

The nPhase SmartService solution is comprehensive and end-to-end, including secure bi-directional communications over GSM/GPRS and CDMA networks, a hosted application customized to AMETEK needs, and a 24/7 Network Operations Center. Through partnership with Beckett LogiSync, a provider of information-enabled embedded communications products, the nPhase solution interfaces with the AMETEK UPS control system at the operating system level. Vital data is then transported securely and bi-directionally to centralized information systems with Internet access. Enterprise software tailored to AMETEK needs enables service technicians to proactively administer repairs and adjustments to the UPS system, typically over the phone, creating a more proactive responsive service than what was previously possible.
