AMETEK Names Timothy N. Jones President, Electromechanical Group; Names Thomas C. Marecic Vice President & General Manager, Process and Analytical Instruments.

:AME See AIT. ) today announced the appointment of Mr. Timothy N. Jones as President, Electromechanical The use of electricity to run moving parts. Disk drives, printers and motors are examples. Electromechanical systems must be designed for the eventual deterioration of moving components that wear over time. The first TVs were electromechanical systems (see video/TV history).  Group effective February 1, 2006. Mr. Jones currently serves as Vice President and General Manager of AMETEK's Process and Analytical Instruments Division (P&AI). Mr. Jones will be replaced by Thomas C. Marecic who currently serves as Division Vice President and Business Unit Manager of P&AI's Process Instrument Business Unit.

Tim has demonstrated a track record of success during his twenty six years with AMETEK, most recently as Vice President and General Manager of Process and Analytical Instruments, one of AMETEK's most successful divisions. At P&AI, Tim's leadership in technology and product innovation, global expansion, and acquisition integration has enabled the division to significantly grow revenue and profitability, gain market share and set the stage for future growth. These skills will be very important as we look to grow the Electromechanical Group."

Mr. Jones has held a variety of engineering, marketing, and general management positions since joining AMETEK's Process & Analytical Instruments Division in 1979 as a Systems Engineer. He was promoted to Product Manager for Combustion and Industrial Analyzers in 1986 and named Director of Engineering for the Division in 1989. Mr. Jones was promoted to Director of Product and Technology Support in 1992 and named a Divisional Vice President in 1995. In 1999 he was named Vice President and General Manager.

Mr. Marecic joined AMETEK P&AI in 1994 as a Product Engineer and held several engineering and product management positions before being named Division Vice President and Process Instruments Business Unit Manager in 1999. Prior to joining AMETEK, Mr. Marecic held engineering positions with Millipore/Extrel and Three Rivers Three Rivers, Que., Canada: see Trois Rivières.  Analytical.
