PAOLI, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 14, 2003

AMETEK Aerospace has been selected to provide the engine sensor suite for the advanced GP7200 high-bypass turbofan engine for the new Airbus A380 aircraft.

AMETEK will supply a full complement of engine sensors for the new engine, including sensors for temperatures, pressures, oil level, oil temperature, and fuel flow.

"We are extremely pleased with this order," comments Frank S. Hermance, AMETEK Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "This is a strategic win that solidifies our position as the leading supplier of aircraft engine sensors to the largest manufacturers of commercial aircraft engines."

AMETEK is the market leader in aircraft engine sensors with the broadest line of products from a single supplier. The GP7200 suite represents the highest content per engine ever for AMETEK Aerospace and with four engines per A380 means significant value on each GP7200 powered aircraft.
